Facinating Factoid

Did you know that participating in Daylight Savings Time is completely optional? Arizona and Hawaii do not participate. I think I should petition the state of Massachusetts to have us always stay on Daylight Savings Time, just to be different.

Wouldn't it be great if you drove through MA and had to change your clock?

It's an absolutely gorgeous day! Yippee! You can bet your butt I'll be outside at lunch. And I'm so glad it's the weekend.

So my dog is better, and we discovered that apparently she doesn't hate going for a walk, she just hates going for a walk with ME! Scott takes her out and she'll give a little resistance and then she goes, but with me, she won't go at all. I don't know what's wrong with her. She loves me in the house. Maybe it's because I'm always the one who picks her up and puts her in the car, which she hates.

Hockey's back! Bruins start selling tickets next week and Scott and I are going to go to the first game of the season. I'm wicked excited.

So we keep getting loads of messages on our machine, some are telemarketers, others are people speaking spanish. Now I ask this, if you called someone, and heard there message, and they spoke english wouldn't you not leave a message. I guess maybe they're calling their bilingual friends. So I am resorting to changing our answering machine message. It will soon say: You've reached Scott & Jill leave us a message, no habla espanol, if you are a telemarketer please try someone else.

I'd like to say I don't speak spanish, please don't leave a message, but I dropped spanish after almost half a semester, so I don't think that's going to happen, unless someone out there in the internet void can tell me how to say it!

People do read my blog! Thanks guys!

Mabel is better, a little, but I'm hoping the vet calls me back from the update I left her this AM. We'll see.

There is this girl in my office who is so freakin' dumb I can't stand it. And she's a clinical coordinator. This morning in our regular meeting she says to me, oh Dartmouth-Hitchcock is in New Hampshire, that's good to know. And she was serious. First of all, if you're in the Boston area you should know where that is, and secondly she's been here over a month and didn't know that. We deal with that hospital all the time!

Nothing else new here. Scott beat me at mini-golf this weekend, but only by 2 strokes, and I have vowed to beat him. And I will... muh ha ha!

Sickly pets

I think this is just the worst month ever for pets, especially if they're mine. I have to take Mabel to the vet today b/c she's been acting strangely all week. She won't go outside, if we try to walk her she pees in the house. I called the vet and they want to see her today, so I'm taking off early today to bring her to the vet. I can't deal with more sick pets.

In other news my Harry Potter VI arrived yesterday. I'm about 250 pages into it, but that's only b/c I didn't have much time last night (had to bake cookies for canoeing). I'd love to write what I can't believe about it, but on the off chance that people actually read my blog I'll refrain from doing so, don't want to spoil it!

Canoeing tomorrow! Can't wait. It's the most relaxing and most fun thing ever!

HHH

Hazy, Hot and Humid. Has the weather been anything but lately? Scott shut off the air this morning b/c he thinks it's beautiful outside, and he opened all the windows. I understand that he hates air conditioning, but now when I get home the whole apartment will be hot and gross, and all our pets will be uncomfortable. What sucks the most is that I'll have to close all the windows and try to get the place to cool off enough that I can use my elliptical b/c I can barely breathe when I'm outside.

The God of Allegra

I worship the god of Allegra. It is my absolute favorite invention, and this is the only thing I wouldn't mind praying to if I had to pray. I ran out, b/c I suck, and I feel horrible. My eyes feel like they're huge. I'll be at Walgreens asap after work.

In other news, I didn't lose my debit card, Scott had it, so at least I'm not completely losing it. We have a new bunny, Trudy. She's cute. I haven't really taken to her yet, but Scott definitely has. She and Maude were fighting last night, but this morning Maude was laying outside Trudy's cage. Hopefully it's a go.

Otherwise, I'm completely boring. Trying to stay awake at work with these stupid allergies. Only 5 1/2 hours until I can go to Walgreens!

forgetful

Ok, so I lost my debit card a few weeks ago, and they sent me a new one. Well, I believe I may have lost that one as well. I can't seem to find it anywhere, and I'm not sure when I used it last. I have to log on tonight to find out and look for it.

Ever have one of those days where you feel put together and that you actually look really nice. I like those days, but I also can't stand them, b/c I'm doomed to hate whatever I'm wearing the next day b/c there is no way I'll look as good as I did the day before, and suddenly it's like I have standards or something.

bunny heaven

My bunny died today. He was almost 3. Scott and I came home last night and he was laying on the floor despondent. We couldn't get him to move. We took him to the emergency vet right then. They did x-rays, and found that he had sandy granules (calcium deposits) in his bladder. This caused the rest of his body to not function correctly. They were worried there was urine in his abdomin, but there wasn't so we were going ahead with surgery today.

The doctor called at 7:15 to tell us that he didn't have a good night and wouldn't be a good candidate for surgery anymore, if we wanted to see him we had to go then. We tried to leave, but the doc called back 10 minutes later and said George had just passed away.

Now we have to go get Maude checked out to make sure she's ok. She's very confused b/c George is gone. They were bonded.

I miss my bunny. He was a great little man. You'd always find him sitting on the couch checking things out. He went back in his cage when you wanted him to. He chewed mine (and some of my friend's shoes) but I forgave him. He was great.

RIP George Killer Bojangles, we miss you.
